I hate when people blog about not blogging...I find it boggling. I dislike Blogger so much that I find myself not wanting to blog. Over the past couple of months my frustration with Blogger has grown into a beast proving too difficult to control. Therefore, I am moving our little nook on the Internet to WordPress. Seeing as how I get paid to make online courses look sexy for my day job it is only fitting that I find a blog host that fits my design aesthetic.

Blog Recommendation
While having a lazy afternoon on the couch with "Knocked Up" on in the background, we have spent the past hour looking at the following blog...it is glorious! Yay for random internet searches about cake decorating that yield wonderful results. It is quite popular.

On The Watch
I always feel like somebody's watching me
Who's playing tricks on me
I always feel like somebody's watching me
Tell me it can't be
- Rockwell
I am officially a block captain for our neighborhood watch. A couple of weeks ago we ventured down to the neighborhood park to discuss the possibility of forming a watch with a handful of neighbors and the police. As the coordinator explained the duties of a block captain, Clay had an 'ah-ha' moment and turned to me wearing a mischievous smile.
"You should totally be a block captain…you love power," he said.
"Well, yes. But I am not sure being a block captain will provide me with the prospect of world domination," I replied.
"Everybody has to start somewhere babe. I know you, you will be on top of everything and rule with an iron fist and I will get kickbacks for being your husband."
"I'm not going to be your puppet. It is not 1932 nor are we in Manchukuo," I shot back relishing the idea of being block captain.
A couple of days later I sent the coordinator an email detailing my wish to become a block captain. Yesterday, my request was honored. Watch out criminals…Karen is watching.

Keep It Clean
A smidgen of our college trivia team, Keep it Clean, has reunited (and it feels so good). Former members are located in Ft. Lauderdale, Belgium, and other locales besides Raleigh but three of our good friends from Clemson work at NC State and reside in Raleigh. Clyde could not make it last night but Greg and Holly met us at The Flying Saucer Draught Emporium for beer, food, and trivia. We peaked early with a first round lead but lost our mojo as the night wore on. Same time, next week we will reclaim the victorious days of Clemson.

A New(ish) Life
Where to start? I will make it brief. Our three month civilian experience was short and sweet due to Clay's reactivation. We will continue to live in North Carolina for the next couple of years and then if we decide to stay in who knows where? I suppose I will have to get use to combat boots by the front door again. We're looking forward to seeing where this adventure leads us next. Who would have thought?

Dad and His Girls...
We're Not Dead
I rather enjoy weekends Clay has National Guard drill. I get to zip around town at my own (fast) pace and wander up and down aisles without any regard for anyone else except ME! This morning I became very annoyed at the five + men wearing orange aprons that approached me at Home Depot asking if I needed help. Sigh. Can't a girl drool over table saws while pondering what one she will ask her husband to get her for Christmas without being bothered by salesmen? I hate the tone in which they ask if I need help; it is as if they think I am clueless about hand and power tools and need some big strong man to point me in the right direction. I am sure I am reading too much into the situation but I can't help but be annoyed. We spent last weekend cleaning out our garage and taking trips to the dump. We're almost to the point where we can begin to set up a little wood shop area; I can't wait.
On a completely different note, I can't get the following song out of my head. And you know what? I am okay with that because this song ROCKS!
